Library as Learning Resources
A library is a back bone of an institution acting as a vast ocean of knowledge and quenching the intellectual thirst of the learners. Library serve as the backbone to all academic activities. The college has well equipped Library housed in a newly constructed three-storey building. It offers a fusion of environment, resources and support to maximize the quality of the student & teacher experience. Large space has been earmarked for the students to study independently in a quiet and cosy atmosphere. The college Library subscribes to Newspapers of English, Hindi and Punjabi languages and Journals/Periodicals. Sufficient almirahs for keeping books and other necessary material are available.
Facility of spacious well-furnished rooms for reading and research is also available in the library. Besides it, the library has the facility of OPAC (Online Public Catalogue), Internet, Reprographics service, Camera, Audio-visual aids, etc. The total number of books in the library, as per the Accession Register, is more than 65,000. Besides the central library, all the distinctive departments of the college have set up their own departmental libraries to inculcate the spirit of self-study and research in the students. DSCW has also modernized its library by providing barcodes to its books and students Identity cards etc.
The college library is regularly upgraded by adding a considerable number of the latest books /journals/periodical/barcoding system and Microfilms related to the various streams to facilitate our students & teachers and to inculcate in them a spirit of self-study and research.
Science Block Library
The college is highly sensitive to cater to the needs of the variegated students of different departments. Keeping that in mind, the college has established a highly modernized, fully equipped and well-stocked separate library for the Department of Science which boasts of the quality infrastructure that one simply gets marveled at. The library is a very unique feature in the department of science and it has the best of the books available in the arena of scientific knowledge.

As mentioned earlier, it helps in procuring electronic books and E-Journals and Databases and supports online submission of the thesis and dissertations and has set up an institutional repository of publications brought by the Faculty. The Library maintains excellent report with the UGC Info Net-Digital Library Consortium (N-List).
