Under the umbrella of Fine Arts, moral values of Dev Samaj change the inner personality of the students. These values are depicted in their paintings as well as in their lifestyle. These values make our students different from the other students of the college. The college principal Dr. (Mrs.) Madhu Prashar delivers lectures on spiritual and moral values from time to time which help the students to follow right path in their life. DSCW is dedicated to serving society through religious education and spiritual development by disseminating knowledge and moral values.

The visual arts are a critical and dynamic part of a liberal arts education, and occupy an important role in culture. Department of Fine Arts experience traditional and contemporary perspectives in the approach to art and design. Students acquire knowledge of the fundamentals of art and design, gain experience with the required tools, materials and techniques for making art and design, and master specific concepts and skills. A Fine Arts Student can lead to embrace visual culture as part of meaningful life and a professional career in the field of visual arts. There is a plan of our college to introduce Masters in Fine Arts, BFA, and MFA. We are also planning to establish an art gallery on the college campus so that every student may get ample space to display her art work.
The Department of Fine Arts in Dev Samaj College for women educates the students and the public in the visual and performing arts and serves as a cultural centre for the campus and the surrounding regions through its creative activities and research work.

A number of outstanding personalities visited the Department in the recent past years. Former MLA Sukhpal Singh Nannu and present MLA Paminder Singh Pinky visited the Department and motivated to bring enthusiasm among the students. HOD, History of Art Punjab University, Mr. Trithankara; HOD of BBKDAV College for women, Mr. Lalit; Mr. Gambhir, a renowned artist and Mr. M.S.Narang .D.C. Ferozepur along with many other famous personalities visited the department to encourage the students.
Our alumnae work in advertising agencies, television stations, publishing houses, film studios, recording companies, design firms, art galleries and museums. Still others extend DSCW tradition of educating artists by becoming teachers themselves. Our alumnae hold some of the most prestigious positions in the field of art and design. They have gone on to use their Fine Arts degree in a variety of ways by capitalizing on the skills they acquire as fine arts majors and minors. DSCW excels in preparing students with superior skills in creative and critical thinking, problem-solving, a broad aesthetic understanding, and the unique mix of technical and intellectual training. We maintain contact with our alumnae as they make their way into the creative economy, often holding alumni meet-ups. Our goal is to create a family of the students, alumnae and faculty who will share experiences, contacts, and opportunities.

The Department has achieved a lot in the recent past years. Some add-on courses have also been started by the Department in 2012. Students perform very well in this subject and get 80 to 90% which improve their overall percentage in university examinations.
Students of the Fine Arts Departments are not only competent in art and painting but also in sports. They are excelling in sports like Kabbadi, athletics, basketball, and boxing. Some of the students have also participated at state and National level competitions.
Cultural Activity Growth At a Glance
Under the supervision of our respected principal Dr (Mrs) Madhu Prashar,an association named as CREATIVE ASSOCIATION was established in Fine Arts Dept. in 2012. The members of the Association look after all the decorations of the college functions. They also take care of the beautification of our college campus. The students of Fine Arts Department have participated in other cultural activities also like Giddha and other dance items and have won various prizes in Youth Festivals and Inter college competitions.
The Department has organized several workshops, seminars, exhibitions from time to time. The teachers of the Department take keen interest in motivating the students and inspire them to actively participate in academics as well as cultural activities .In addition to it, the students are invited for various social activities like Blood Donation, Tree Planting and some student are also the members of NSS and NCC wings. Our College leads in the appreciation and preservation of our cultural heritage and the betterment of the environment.
