Department of Sociology commenced its path to success in the year 2013 as an optional subject offered in the humanities and Social Science. The Department started its journey as an elective subject for the students who opted for it in the Bachelor of Arts, with the strength of 33 students. With the passage of time, Sociology started achieving fame and favorable reputation from the student’s end. As the number of students in this subject is increasing, the department of sociology is on its way to attain the status of excellence. At present, the Department has the honor of educating more than 91 students in the different dimensions of social science.

Sociology Department is made up faculty who are energetically and effectively engaged in teaching, research and community building . Sociology classes are rigorous, inclusive, inspiring and well connected to the world outside the classroom. Students develop sociological imagination while gaining enriching experience and tangible skills that will lead to future success, the college holds the department in high regard, and the surrounding communities recognize its value

The Sociology Departments aim is that all sociology majors achieve three levels of mastery by graduation.
Knowledge- correct understanding via clear description/ definition of key concepts.
Application- Correct use of key concepts to explain social phenomena.
Integration- Effective connection of key concepts/processes employed to explain social phenomena.

- Teaching learning techniques by latest methodology like power point presentation, seminar, quiz, Group Discussion, LCD Projector, etc
